Today Kendriya Vidyalaya IOC Haldia is celebrating 30th Annual Day. On this auspicious occasion, I, on behalf of entire family of K. V. IOC Haldia, feel privileged to extend a very warm and hearty welcome to our esteemed chief guest, Mr.A.P.Gangopadhyay, Executive Director, IOCL Haldia & Chairman Vidyalaya Management Committee.

I feel elated to welcome Guest of honour Mrs.  Sathi Gangopadhyay, first lady of IOCL. I feel thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Mrs. Mohua Basu, General Manager(HR) IOCL & Nominee Chairman Vidyalaya Management Committee , DIG Jena, District Commander Coast Guard, Madam Jena, Shri A.D. Tarafdar Chief Manager (A&W) IOCL, Distinguished guests, members of VMC, Officers of IOCL, Principals of other vidyalayas, Press and Media persons and Parents .

Kendriya vidyalaya sangathan is a pace setter educational organization to cater educational needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees by providing a common programme of education.

It aims to initiate and promote experimentation and innovation in education in collaboration with other bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education and National Council of Educational Research and Training etc.

It also develops the spirit of national integration and creates a sense of "Indianness" among children.  Keeping these aims, every kendriya vidyalaya follows various curricular and co-curricular activities throughout the session. In the last session this vidyalaya too followed various activities. These are:





In the Academic Session: 2014-15, the result of internal examination of class I to VIII is 100%, and result in class IX is 69% and in XI 62 %.


In the A.I.S.S.E. (X), the result is also 100%. Two students, Master Subhrangshu Paul and Miss Ujjainee Das have secured 10 CGPA in class X and they have been awarded cash prize of Rs. 5000/- (Five thousand rupees) each by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Regional Office, Kolkata.

The result of A.I.S.S.C.E (XII) is 98.08%. Miss Anushka Sinha topped science stream with 94.6%, Miss Shubhangi Sengupta topped commerce stream with 68.80% and Miss Anjali Debdas topped Humanities stream with 85 %. I congratulate all these students , their parents and the teachers. I extend my best wishes for their bright career.

In the Academic Session: 2015-16, 39 students have appeared in A.I.S.S.E. (X) and 51 students in A.I.S.S.C.E (XII) examination. I hope they will bring laurels to vidyalaya.



Every year Sports and games are organised at cluster, regional and national level for secondary and Hr. Secondary students. For Primary section it is held at cluster level.

This year 30 students took part in different events held at KV, NO-2, Kharagpur on 06.11.2015.In this Meet- Master Niladri Mandal (class-III) has bagged prize by securing 2nd position in 50 mt race and Miss Khushi kumari Gupta(class-III) has bagged prize by securing 3rd position in 50 mt race. Miss Sanchita Mahato (class-V) has also bagged prize by securing 3rd position in 100mt race.

Like primary section, 38 students of Secondary and Hr. secondary sections took part in Regional level Sports Meet in different events like Football-U-19, Cricket-U-19, Hand ball –U-19, Skating-U-19, Athletics-U-17& 19, Badminton U-17&19.

Out of 38 students, a total of 4 students -01 student in Skating, 01 in Hand ball and 02 students in Badminton were selected for National Meet held at different venues like Lucknow, Varanasi and Ernakulum from 10/09/15 to 06/11/15.

The 30th Annual Sports Day was celebrated on 2nd December 2015 and the occasion was graced by Mr.A.P.Gangopadhyay, Executive Director IOCL Haldia & Chairman Vidyalaya Management Committee and he gave away prizes to the winners.

ii) SCIENCE, mathematics and environment exhibition:

The Regional level Science, Mathematics and Environment exhibition was held at KV Command Hospital (Kolkata) from 17thto 18th December-2015 in which 7 students have taken part with their innovative and creative models, charts& project works.

iii) Childern Science Congress:

The regional level children science congress was held at KV No 2 Salt Lake w. e. f.   to    . 12 Students of our Vidyalaya took part in it with their innovative projects, scrap books and models. One theme presented by Miss Ankita Gosh of class VI was selected for National level Children Science congress held at Mumbai.


Vidyalaya provides opportunity to students for competitive exams conducted by CBSE, KVS, other govt. and non govt. bodies to inculcate competitive spirit among them. It gives me pleasure to announce that 84 students appeared in SOF 18th National Science Olympiad and out of them 5 students qualified for 2nd level examination, 109 students appeared in SOF 9th International Maths Olympiad and 7 of them qualified for 2nd level examination, 24 students appeared in 15th National Cyber Olympiad and 1 has qualified for 2nd level examination, 72 students in 9th International English Olympiad conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation and out of them 7 Students have bagged gold medals and 1 each silver and bronze medal.




The Cluster level Social Science Exhibition cum National Integration Camp was held on 1st September 2015 atKV NO-2, Kalaikunda& 32 Students participated in this exhibition with Models,Charts,Scrape books etc prepared by them. They also took part in Debate,Skit and various cultural programmes.One student has secured 2nd position in Hindi Debate and one 3rd position in English debate.


Under Scout & Guide activities we have enrolled a total of 151 students. This year 25 scouts and 21 guides participated in Pratham and Dwitya Sopan testing camp held in our vidyalaya from 28 to 29th August-15. 05 Students participated in Tritiya sopan Testing camp held at KV Chittaranjan. 1 student attended Rajya Puraskar testing camp at KV Chittaranjan and qualified the same.



Grandparent’s day was celebrated in a grand manner on 01/10/2015 for the students of primary section in which grandparents of the primary students participated in a large number and were honoured by the vidyalaya. Different cultural programs were also organized on this occasion which were really enjoyed and appreciated by all. It was a great experience for the vidyalaya and the grandparents.


KVS has started the ‘No Bag Day’ on which the children come to school without the burden of bag. This year ‘No Bag Day’ was celebrated in the Vidyalaya on 09/12/2015. A variety of programmes were organised throughout the day for the enjoyment of children.


Medical checkup of all the students from class I-XII has been conducted in Vidyalaya in the month of August-15 & January-16 and health status of students has been sent to parents on prescribed Medical Cards with medical advice for their wards.



It was conducted in our Vidyalaya w.e.f 16.11.2015 to 20.11.2015 for the purpose of inculcating the habit of reading among the students of primary section. The week was marked by conducting different competitions like Book Mark Competition, Book Jacket Competition, Story Telling Competition, Quiz Contest and Book Review. A book fair by National Book Trust of India was also held in Vidyalaya from 30.11.2015 to 01.12.2015.



The educational excursion under CMP for the students of primary section was conducted on 24.11.2015. All the students of primary section were taken to ‘Sun set’ view point at Balughata. The students enjoyed a lot by exploring the nature and learning from it.

vi) CMP:

To accelerate the all-round development of primary students, KVS has introduced CMP. Following its aims and objectives, we conducted film shows, educational excursion, and community lunch etc. in last session.

Cluster level CCA Meet under CMP was held at KV NO-2 Kalaikunda on 4/12/2015 and 35 students of our Vidyalaya took part in different events like elocution, recitation, quiz, group song, group dance etc. Miss Anouska Sarkar bagged 3RD prize in Hindi poem recitation.

vii) Co-curricular Activities and Observation of Important Events:

While focussing light on Co-Curricular Activities, I would like to convey the august gathering that we are providing ample opportunities to our Children for the over-all development of their personality.  We have organised Inter-House Competitions to enable our Children to expose their talents in different fields. We have Celebrated Independence Day, Teachers’ Day, Hindi Pakhwara, Children’s Day, Republic Day etc. in our Vidyalaya. The mass-participation of the students has been ensured in CCA activities.


Parents Teachers Meeting have been conducted thrice for all the classes from I-XII to brief the parents about academic performance and other aspects of the behaviour of their wards for achieving good results in internal and board examination.


The Annual academic inspection of the vidyalaya for the session 2015-16 was held on 08.10.2015. A team of 5 members including Deputy Commissioner of KVS, RO (Kol) and Principals of four different Kendriya Vidyalayas visited and inspected the day to day activities, teaching-learning process, class room teaching, all the records and overall functioning of the Vidyalaya.


It is my pleasure to inform the august gathering that following the spirit of circulars of Govt. of India through CBSE/KVS, the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has been launched in our Vidyalaya from 2nd October, 2014 on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Teachers and students have participated in this Abhiyan by taking up programmes for cleanliness of vidyalaya premises and also public places like River-side and this Mission is being taken up time to time.


The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India has launched “KV Shaala Darpan” which is a part of initiative of Digital India. It is an e-initiative of KVS that will provide all information about the students and staff of Kendriya Vidyalayas electronically on a single platform. It will also provide e-tutorials to students to enrich their knowledge. Presently we have fed the details of staff and students on this portal and they are going to get OMV smart card and very shortly all the activities of Vidyalaya like performance of student different examinations, attendance, communication facilities like SMS, payment of fees etc. will be extended under this project. Although 100% automation of payment of fees has been done through UBI portal.



We have installed 2 Kent RO water purifiers for ensuring the availability of potable water to students.


Mr A K Mani (PGT Chem) , Ms Archana (PGT Eco)  and Mr P K Bhattacharya have attended 5 days capacity building workshop in their respective subjects held at ZIET Bhubaneswar during the session 2015-16.  

Mr A Satyam (PGT Geo) has attended 12 days Capacity building program on Remote Sensing and Geospatial Technologies held at Kolkata.

Mrs P K Kerketta (PGT Comm) and Ms Archana (PGT Eco) have attended one day workshop in their respective subject held at KV Salt Lake no 1.

Besides these Mrs.S.Nautiyal, PGT(COMP.SC.) has attended 01 day workshop each on KV Shaala Darpan Project and collection of fees through UBI portal held at KV Fort Willam Kolkata and Mr.H.Mandal,TGT(English) has also attended 01 day training programme on Fee collection through POS Machine held at KV Fort Willam Kolkata.

On this auspicious occasion, it is my utmost pride and privilege to inform the distinguished gathering that today 153 students are going to stage various awesome cultural programmes. We are also going to give away prizes to 59 students who have secured 1st position in various Curricular and Co-Curricular activities. I congratulate these students, their parents and the staff.

I hope the presence of our chief guest, Guest of honour and other distinguished guests will encourage and inspire the students to bloom their talents in the field of academic and co-curricular activities.

I am highly grateful to Sh. A.P.Gangopadhayay, Executive Director IOCL Haldia & Chairman Vidyalaya Management Committee, Guest of Honour, Mrs. Sathi Gangopadhyay, the  First lady of IOCL Haldia and the IOCL authorities as they have given full support and co-operation to provide all the facilities to celebrate the Annual Day successfully. I would like to express my gratitude to Mrs. Mahua Basu, General Manager(HR) IOCL & Nominee Chairman Vidyalaya Management Committee,  DIG Sanatan Jena, District Commander Coast Guard, Madam Sushma Jena, Sh.
